Ep4 – The Hero Always Dies
I want you to think about your first job from the very first day at the office to the moment you got a promotion. If you are like most people, you probably have a well-defined picture of what got you that promotion. And if you’re keen enough, you’ll notice that most of the things that worked for you at the infancy stage of your career might not be that effective the higher you go in your leadership journey.
Where am I going with this? Well, different people are destined for different leadership paths. And ideally, over time, you will be tasked with bigger assignments, more responsibilities, and eventually, maybe that corner office you’ve been dreaming of since you were a kid. However, the thing I’ve noticed is that, in general, people pass through up to three major leadership levels. The problem is, 99% of people never make it out of the second level because they keep their inner hero alive for way too long. They are reluctant to let go of the things that gave them the success they currently enjoy. I believe that to achieve leadership success and conquer all three levels of leadership, you have to be willing to let go of what worked at the previous level and embrace the demands of your current level.
Are you being passed up for promotions all the time? Are you a high achiever who people have stopped listening to for no apparent reason? Are you one of the best in the company, yet still don’t get the respect you feel you deserve? Then this episode is for you. Not only will Seth help reveal your blind spot, but he’ll also help you break into top-tier leadership so you can have the impact you so badly desire.
